Students Run Oakland is always looking for committed volunteers to help meet our goals of training and inspiring youth to complete our program and be better prepared for success in life. We don’t require specific skills or training, and we’ll work with you to find the right opportunity. What’s most important is your ability to establish rapport with high school students of diverse backgrounds and interests. We look for volunteers that are excellent role models and who can mentor our youth participants toward better self-esteem and healthy living.
The first step to becoming an SRO volunteer is completing our online Volunteer Application (find the link below). The application takes about 15 minutes to complete, so please have your references and work history information in hand before you begin. (You cannot save your application; you must complete the form in one session.)
Important Note: To get involved in this year’s program, you must attend a SRO’s volunteer orientation meeting. Our spring meeting will be: Saturday, June 4 at the Alameda County Public Health Department,
1000 Broadway, Suite 500.
Our presentation runs about 90 minutes, starting at 10 a.m. You’ll meet other committed volunteers, learn more about the work we do, and have an opportunity to ask questions. Please RSVP or forward any questions to srovolunteer@comcast.net.
Thank you for helping us in “Training for Life, One Step at a Time.”
